Is Your Brand Fake?




The question of faking any brand is really vital. But why the question of faking any brand arises? The story of faking starts when you are happily obliging to inflate your brand presence in front of your customers with the help of fake twitter followers or fake likes in facebook. This is your first step of distancing your brand from your target audience because you are not telling the truth or portraying the real picture of your brand to your customers.

Every brand has a personality. If any brand lacks personality then it’s the duty of the owner of the brand to create and maintain it. By now you can surely understand that whatever may be the character and personality of the brand it cannot and must not fake to its customers. Customers love to associate themselves emotionally with the brand they want to use. Emotional attachment with any brand defines the characteristics of that brand along with its customers.  Brand they pick for their use also points the social strata they belong and where they aspire to be in the near future.

When aspiration of brand when mixes well with the aspiration of customers, they always bond well with each other to form a new segment in the market.  This new segment can be named as Trust. Trust, actually starts with strong ethics and brand values and strangely enough, people love to be a part of that beliefs and likely to become one of the part of that particular brand

In simple words, more you engage people with your brand’s real story more you create an attachment with your customers. Brand engagements make every customer happy as they feel the ownership of that brand. Problems start when you are not ready to give up your brand’s credentials in search of false elevation of your brand by adapting the route of fake followers and likes. At first people may swell up to be a part of your brand by looking at huge number of (false) brand followers. Moment they realise that all these swellings are nothing but empty canvas and portrayal of betrayal they will lose the trust in your brand.  Once you lose the trust of your customers you will have nothing to curse yourself for the monumental mistake that you have made by adopting the path of faking.  With so many competitors around, position of your brand will erode like massacre of Tsunami.

If you build your brand around quality promises and well-knitted values people will start to imbibe them into their lives. In this world, people love to be part of the good and ‘trending’ things that are happening all the time. Your task is to keep your brand relevant to time and the present generation. As said earlier, every brand has a personality and giving any brand a particular persona needs a well-calculated strategies, thoughts, values and executions. Every time you own a brand or planning to start a new one just ask yourself, “Am I going to start real or Fake it?”
