You have a business or company that offers products or services and you want your customers to buy your products or services, which is a natural phenomenon. Question is – are you making enough efforts to motivate your customers to buy your products? How to make your business a success?
Let’s clear the air-
You have a business that may or may not have competitors and your goal is to become the first choice of your customers. What actions you have taken so far to make your brand/ business attractive to your target audience?
Situation 1 – You are dealing with competitors
We all know mega fights between two cola giants – Coca-cola and Pepsi. This is a classic case of competition that dates back to the 1980’s. Dubbed as ‘the GreatCola War’ where both the companies have engaged in mutually-targeted marketing campaigns to fuel the competition between each company's product lines.
Things you should/ must look at are -
1. Now consider your business -are your products/services or marketing messages are strong and creative enough to create a stir among your customer base?
2. What steps you have takes to make it a more competitive one or something that creates more attraction than your competitors?
3. How you have highlighted your USP ( Unique Selling Proposition) to your target customers?
Are you giving offers? If so, how often?
Situation 2 – You are offering a whole new concept/ product/ service
In this situation, theoretically, you are in a slightly advantageous position as it is a completely new service or product. On the flip side, you may face difficulties to convince your customers that your new product or service will be way more beneficial for them.
Remember, there will be apprehensions as well as mistrust at the start, and you need to overcome it.
Your marketing and brand messages should be strong and persuasive to create a sense of trust among your future customers. Over the years, I have worked with many start-ups and new products and the main point of concern is to create a crystal clear marketing message.
To create a strong and clear marketing message you need to have a good brand image. If you don’t have any then create one as soon as possible.
You should consider these steps to create several points of attraction
1) An excellent tagline/ punchline
2) Clear brand image
3) Easy to understand words and sentences
4) Showing the advantages in a clear and creative way
5) Constant brand engagement in different media platforms including social and digital media
If you can create all these and create a strategy that meets the need of your customers ( Yes not your brand but for your customers ) then you are on the right track. You must create an environment where your customers feel emotionally motivated and inspired to buy your products/ services.
Soon, I will share an article where I will share my experience of creating a loyal customer base for one of my clients.
