Everything is going digital these days and we love it dearly. Marketers too are depending heavily these days on digital media and of course Social media platforms. But despite their whole-hearted efforts sometimes every strategy and planning is falling apart as they were unable to reach their goals.
Even after spending much higher than the stipulated budget the result that everyone is expecting is fail to appear, All the stats that are coming from every social media platform is showing disastrous figures and results. Your client is fuming and you have no answer to calm your client.
My work experience with different social media campaigns taught me many things and I too have suffered setbacks. I worked my way to find solutions and giving my clients the best results they are looking for their brands.
So, where things went wrong and what you can do about it? Let’s find out-
1) Have you picked the right platform?
This is the most important part. You must know what
social media platform you want to use for your product or brand. Not every
platform is serving all types of product or services. Knowing the product is
important and knowing the usability of each social media platform is far more
important. If you don’t know how to pick the platform for your product then
study each social media platform closely. Watch all the activities that are
happening in those platforms and you will get a fair amount of idea after one
week. This is really important. You must do this research before taking the
plunge.
2) Are your communication messages are perfect enough to serve the target audience?
Every word you write, every sentence you construct should serve your customers. It is important to know your customers and how they love to communicate. I often find during my client handling that clients are looking for the words and lines to tell their stories to their customers. You may have a really good product but if you miss out on creating your messages you are in deep trouble. Remember, trying to create one message that is suitable for all the social media platforms may not always work in your favor. Every social media platform works on a different set of words and style which is why each platform has its own identity and audience. So, be careful while creating your social media campaign messages.
3) Timing is important
Yes, timing is everything. Each post of yours demands perfect timing to attract the maximum number of views, likes, and shares. Take a thorough look at your audience and their lifestyles and decide the timing of your posts. The timing of the post can be morning, noon, afternoon or evening depending on your product or customer base. Proper timing can bring in more engagement and activities.
4) Tread Cautiously at first
Whatever you plan, just don’t go gung-ho from the start. Don’t expect that everything will fall into place from day one. Unless you have a huge amount of money to spend, it is always advisable to run your promotion in two or three different modes and styles just to ensure the mood of your audience. Your audience always has the final say, you may think that you have created a wonderful piece of ad or promotional message but your audience has the right to reject it outrightly. Taste and test your audience at first then go whole-heartedly to fulfill your goals. Do not overspend your budget.
5) Follow the trend or create a new trend
Either you follow the present mood of your customers and create something that they are already loving or you can create a new sensation that everyone is ready to share. If you follow the trend and create something in the same line it will surely attract a set of audience and your future customers.
On the other hand, if you are able to create a whole new trend with new sets of hashtags or one-liner then nothing like it. You need constant involvement to keep your trend alive at least for a few months to surpass your target and goals.
Each day I am facing different challenges and each day is new learning for me while creating campaigns for my clients. I hope this article will help you to give an overall idea to deal with problems that can come while doing social media campaigns.
